On the 13^th of September 2008 the championship of CIS countries and Baltic States for strongmen "Ural Challenge" took place in Chelyabinsk.

Such event on an international scale takes place in Ural for the first time. Six teams, representatives of CIS countries and Baltic States competed against each other: Byelorussia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Uzbekistan and Russia. Two teams were caped for Russia.

Strongmen competed in the following kinds of competitions: "Farmer walking", "Dead-Lift", "Hero whirligig", "Cars' towing", "Wheel canting", "Steps of strength". But the "Cars' towing" has become the most spectaculars' competition.

By the end of the competition Elbrus Nigmatulin and Dmitry Kononets have become champions. The second place was given to our second team, Eugenij Stoletov and Aleksej Krivosheya.

During the festival performance strongmen from Chelyabinsk were equipped by Mueller Sports Medicine, Inc. products provided to them by our regional representative from Chelyabinsk – Sportmedika Company.
